Cape Cod Camping

So camping in New England is a totally different experience than out west. A friend coined it, "camping for the needy New Englanders." It's a need to be entertained and pampered. Camping is usually in a pop-up or trailer, with themed weekends, kid activities and even provided meals. Last year when we went camping for the first time here in Maine, at check in we were informed that newspapers would be delivered daily at 6am to our TENT campsite and here was our access code for wireless interent. It's a whole other world! :)
Camping in Cape Cod was about the same: beautiful, big playground, full laundromat, deluxe shower accomodations, mini store in campground, pool hall, bike trails, no fires allowed and almost door-to-door campsites. Strict quiet hours were from 10:30-7:30, and I mean strict. We got in trouble from the night guard for whispering across our table at 11pm, and were asked to move our tent to the designated cleared area during the day (which we thought was the parking spot for our car it was so close to the road). Interesting! Despite the camping style, we had an absolute blast with the Lobo family and hanging out at the beach all day, every day. We camped only 1/2 mile inland from the beach. The weather was fantastic and the waves were perfect for body surfing!
Our campsite was in N Truro, about 10 minutes from Provincetown (tip of the Cape). One night, we drove through Provincetown, and around the curve so we could watch the sunset over the water. On the east coast, this is a treat because the sun rises over the Atlantic here, as opposed to the West Coast where it sets over the water. The way the Cape curls, it allows the sunset over the water at this vantage point and many people here drive to see it. Beautiful!
Trevor as the strong man in the sand!
We had fun making sand castles and being creative!
The Sharp & Lobo kids!

This looks so nice-- Todd and I will have to find our way up there sometime. But- I don't think I could handle the quiet hours.
