In order to survive the looooong, coooold winter here, we decided a few years ago that skiing is a priority because then we WANT it to snow, to be cold, etc. Its all about perspective, right? And the right gear! Here's the kids enjoying the outside picnic area of the ski lodge while we waited for Adam to do a few runs to finish the day. They "decorated" the tree with snowballs (hey, at least it was a creative way to dispose of them rather than at each other). Other kids joined in their fun.

Tree decoration in progress. No one could sit by us because snow was flying everywhere to "free" or detach the snowballs from the mound that used to be covering the base of the tree and the shrubs under it.

Trevor getting some air at the terrain park.

The kids and I before a run.
Jared, the maniac, jumps off anything and hits hard!

Karinn can keep up with us all, but we're trying to get her doing "french fries not pizza!"

Makenize watching the boys jump at the terrain park. She's the careful one. Thank heavens there is one.

Adam showing the boys how to fly!

Trevor helping Karinn up a little slope. The chivolrous knight!

Karinn playing a solo at their school's winter concert.

Jared before his piano solo at the concert.

Adam took Karinn to the Snowflake Ball, a girl scout and "someone special" dance (isan't it sad that they can't say Daddy Daughter Dance anymore?). They dressed up (obviously) played games like hula hoop, had snacks, and danced!

Our last WeBelos activity was NIGHT capture the flag, it luckily warmed up to 24 degrees that day and we had a frozen field in which to play.

Karinn's had a busy week because the Saturday before I took her to a special birthday party for her friend Renatta Martin (pictured with her mom Robbin and brother Rexton): Disney's Princesses on Ice. We were in the nosebleed section but had a blast! Karinn was excited!

HOLY COW! Makenzie turned 13 - an official teenager! At least there is now an official excuse for the raging hormones eeking from her every pore! Okay, just sometimes. She's still a wonderful girl: high honor rolls, talented artistically and musically, obedient, helpful, a pleasure to have in our home!
Last week we decided to NOT ski because there was an artic storm. At 9am, the slopes were -1 degree with a high of 4 and major wind. So, Jared, Trevor and Karinn in cuddled up in the guest room under the electric blanket to stay warm and watch a movie.

We LOVE all the updates! You guys always have great activities to keep you busy and to "weather" the winter! Love seeing our cute grandkids!!! Congratulations to Kenzie for the choir achievements too! We miss you all!
Great pics, you guys. Really made us miss you all. Skiing looks great. Adam, when are you going to teach the boys how to do a 360 off of a jump? : ) Awesome job, Karinn and Jared, on the piano recitals. It was a little strange to Jared with such well-combed hair, tho. : )
Kenz, can't wait to hear you perform! Great job on making the regional choir.
And Trev, try to plan your next Capture the Flag night for when I'm there. I would love to play, and show you how it's really done!
Love you guys.
Wow, lots of fun stuff in this post! I love the ski pictures! How fun!! I am glad that Kenzie had a fun birthday. Her hair is so long.. what a beautiful and talented girl! How fun and Sarena and Karinn got to go to princeses on Ice!
